Apply for a longer term exemption for Blue Badge holders making journeys in a vehicle registered at their address.
You can apply for this exemption if you're a:
Blue Badge holder
parent of a child with a Blue Badge
carer or family member of a Blue Badge holder who lives at the same address
organisations with an organisational Blue Badge
Blue Badge holders making journeys in a vehicle registered at their address can apply for a longer term exemption if the vehicle doesn't meet the zone's emission standards.
If the vehicle already has a disabled tax class it is nationally exempt and you do not need to apply for a local exemption for this vehicle.
Check whether your vehicle is nationally exempt or will be charged on the online vehicle checker (GOV.UK).
You'll be notified of the outcome of your application within 15 working days. You're not exempt from the Clean Air Zone charge until your application is approved, so allow enough time for your application to be processed.
All exemptions are free of charge.
The Clean Air Zone is managed by cameras with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR). If your exemption application is approved, the ANPR system will recognise your vehicle automatically and you don't need to display anything in your vehicle.
This exemption will end on 31 March 2023.
You may also apply for Blue Badge Daily Exemptions for occasional journeys in a vehicle that is not your own.
