What the Household Enquiry Form is and when the revised electoral register was published.

Look out for your annual Household Enquiry Form being sent in early July 2019.

Every year a Household Enquiry Form (HEF) is sent to all properties in the city to check who is eligible to register to vote. It’s a legal requirement to respond to this form. 

It’s important to provide the information requested on the HEF even if you are not eligible to vote or the property is empty.

If you don’t respond, a reminder will be sent and canvassers visit properties where a form has not been returned.

Respond to the HEF

Check and read the whole form carefully before responding. 

It's quicker and easier to respond using the online option below and you'll need your two part security code printed on the form.

If nobody is eligible to vote, you'll need to include a reason after your security code, for example: empty, business, 2nd home, none or other.

What happens next

Anyone who is added to the form will be sent an 'Invitation to Register Form' so that they can register to vote. You can also register to vote online.

By completing the Household Enquiry Form you are not registering to vote, only confirming the names of people at the property. 

If you remove anyone from the form we'll write to you to confirm that they no longer live at the property.

When the new register will be published

The Electoral Register is not published during the Annual Canvass. There will be no additions to the register in the months of October and November.

The revised Electoral Register will then be published on 1 December 2019. This is a legal requirement.
