Specialist care: children with challenging behaviour

Specialist care: children with challenging behaviour

A specialist full time role, looking after vulnerable and challenging children.

If you have experience in the care sector, such as caring for vulnerable children or adults, you could become a Treatment Foster Care Oregon (TFCO) carer.

A TFCO carer is a specialist full time paid role, caring for children aged 7 to 11 with more challenging behaviours. You’d be making a difference to some of the most vulnerable and challenging children.

Both you and the child will get intensive support, including individual help from a therapist and other workers.

The placements tend to be between 9 and 12 months. You’d be caring for one child at a time.

To be a TFCO carer you need to:

  • be over 25
  • have no children under the age of 15 living at home
  • have experience in the care sector
