Our Christmas trading dates, what size stall you can choose and how to apply.

St Nicholas Market is home to the largest collection of local, independent indoor and outdoor market traders in Bristol.

Because of the historical setting in the centre of Bristol and it being a tourist attraction, we have many visitors especially around the Christmas season. 

Christmas trading

You can only book a stall on Mondays if you sell produce that meets the terms and conditions of Vegan and Wellbeing Market.

Equipment

A single stall has:

  • An eight foot by eight foot traditional market umbrella
  • Two six foot by two foot tables

You can also apply for a double stall which has:

  • two traditional market umbrellas
  • four six foot by two foot tables

You’ll also receive:

  • access to free electricity
  • one car parking space close to the market and subject to availability

Costs of Christmas trading stalls

Non-food stall:

  • Week day: single stall: £35 per trade, double stall: £70 per trade
  • Saturdays and Sundays: single stall: £40 per trade, double stall: £70 per trade

Food stall: 

  • Week day: single stall: £40 per trade, double stall: £80 per trade
  • Saturdays and Sundays: single stall: £45 per trade, double stall: £90 per trade

We’ll require payment in advance.

Bookings are made on a first come, first serve basis with no refunds issued unless under extreme circumstances and agreed with by the Markets Office.

You can apply for either a food stall or a non-food stall.

You can then choose the dates you’d like to trade on if your application is successful.

You’ll need:

  • your National Insurance number
  • details of your local authority food hygiene registration 
  • Level 2 in Food Safety certificate
  • digital images of your products

You’ll need:

  • your National Insurance number
  • digital images of products

After you apply

We’ll get in touch with you within 10 working days to let you know if your application has been successful or not. 

We may ask you to come in to the Markets Office to meet you and assess the quality of your products.

If successful we’ll email you a link to our booking and payment system where you can:

  • Choose the dates you’d like to trade on
  • Pay your Christmas trading fee
