Corporate Plan 2008 - 2011

Introduction

The Corporate Plan is a strategic three-year document produced by Bristol City Council, written for our customers, staff and partners. It sets out the key challenges we face and describes the city that we want Bristol to become. Most importantly it details how we will achieve this.

Our key challenges:

  • To ensure Bristol is a successful city
  • To work to ensure that everyone can share in that success
  • To make that success sustainable, protecting our environment for future generations.

Our priorities

The four "Our city" themes shown below are our priorities. These four priorities guide all of our work:

Our city ambitious together

1. Going for growth in Bristol that we all can contribute to and benefit from.

Our city making a difference

2. Raising standards in the key services that we need to improve:

  • for efficient, responsive services
  • for children and young people
  • for older people and disabled people.

Our city safer and healthier

 3. Ensuring that citizens feel safe from crime and anti-social behaviour and can enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

 Our city better neigbourhoods

 4. Ensuring that Bristol residents experience significant change in the physical quality of their neighbourhoods and have opportunities to shape improvements at this level.
