Hengrove Park - Phase 1

 

Introduction

In 2005 outline planning permission was granted for the redevelopment of Hengrove Park for a variety of uses including:

  • a new park
  • health facility
  • pool
  • residential and
  • employment uses

Three applications have now been submitted for Phase 1 of the Hengrove Park Regeneration Project.  Phase 1 is located off Whitchurch Lane and adjoins the Matthew Clark/Constellation site to the south east and the area known as the "Mounds" to the north west.

Infrastructure Works - Application No. 07/05074/FB

This application seeks consent for new roads within the site and includes a new access onto Whitchurch Lane and new signals and pedestrian crossing points at Hartcliffe roundabout. This application also establishes the position and size of the development plots within the site.

South Bristol Skills Academy - Application No. 07/05087/F

City of Bristol College have applied to build a new Skills Academy building.  This would be located next to Whitchurch Lane. The four storey building will contain a variety of teaching spaces and would provide education and training for 1500 full time students.

South Bristol Community Hospital - Application No. 07/05332/F

The hospital would be located towards the rear of the site. The three storey building would provide out patient services, a minor injuries unit on the ground floor with wards and day theatres on the upper floors. A decked parking area would be provided opposite the hospital building.
