Rocksteady is ideal for any student who does not respond well to a typical classroom setting, prefers a ‘hands-on’ practical style of learning, and has an interest in construction training.
At Rocksteady Training we believe in offering small scale educational and vocational training. We encourage young people in developing their work, learning life skills, and accepting emotional and practical support, in a safe and supportive environment. We do our upmost to help our learners engage in a positive future and will assist them in preparation for their next steps.
Learners will learn basic and advanced construction skills to industry standards and will have a personalised learning plan based around construction. Social, emotional and employability skills and qualifications are added depending on whether aiming for Award, Certificate, or diploma.
Accreditations
Awarding Body (Ascentis)
Students access a Level 1 Construction course made up of 16 units comprising of 10 practical units and 6 core units.
Practical skills
Carpentry, Wall tiling, Plastering, Rendering, Bricklaying, Wallpapering, Painting and Plumbing.
Core Units
Team Building, Handling, and storing materials, Introduction to Construction work, Introduction to Self–Employment, Personal Work Skills, Principals of Health, and Safety
