Discovery Education Centre is an Alternative Learning Provision based in Bristol, supporting children and young people who are unable to access mainstream education due to SEN or SEMH needs.

We provide high-quality, flexible and trauma-informed education for learners aged 5 to 25, working closely with schools, local authorities and families to re-engage pupils in learning and support positive outcomes. Our provision is built around small group and one-to-one learning, strong relationships and a personalised approach that recognises each young person’s strengths, needs and aspirations.

Our curriculum is bespoke to each individual; we specialise in Maths and English, outdoor education, BTECs, vocational learning and therapeutic support, including access to therapy dogs. Programmes are tailored to individual learning plans, EHCP outcomes and reintegration or transition goals.

Discovery Education Centre operates across multiple Bristol-based centres and delivers an extensive outdoor education programme. We provide transport, meals and consistent key-worker support to ensure barriers to engagement are reduced.

Safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion are at the heart of our practice. We work in partnership with commissioning bodies, schools and external agencies to ensure learners are safe, supported and prepared for successful transitions into further education, training or employment.
