You can get a copy of death, marriage, birth and civil partnership certificates by post.

You may have problems ordering online if you’re using a mobile devices or tablet.

This is because of a technical issue which we’re trying to fix.

We can’t take applications over the phone.

Standard service

Our standard service costs £11 . Certificates will be issued after 15 working days by second class post.

By post

Print and fill in an application form:

Post the form to: Bristol Register Office, The Old Council House, Corn Street, Bristol, BS1 1JG. 

Include your payment (if paying by cheque) and a stamped addressed envelope for the certificate to be posted back to you.

You can come to the Register Office to hand in the form to us.

In person

You'll not be able to collect certificates at the Register Office

All certificates will be posted.

Register Office opening hours

  • Monday: 9am to 4pm
  • Tuesday: 9am to 4pm
  • Wednesday: 10am to 4pm
  • Thursday: 9am to 4pm
  • Friday: 9am to 4pm
