You can get a copy of death, marriage, birth and civil partnership certificates by post.
There are significant postal delays due to the Royal Mail postal strikes. We'll produce and send certificates within our normal timeframes, you need to allow extra time for delivery.
You can choose to collect certificates from Bristol Register Office, Corn Street rather than having them posted. We'll contact you when the certificate is ready for collection.
- If you order by phone you need to tell us when you order that you want to collect the certificate

If your certificate is posted and it doesn't arrive, please allow a minimum of four weeks from the date of order before contacting us.

We can't take applications over the phone.
Standard service
Our standard service costs £11 . Ordered certificates will be issued within 15 working days and sent by second class post.
Priority service
This service is for historic applications only. We do not offer this service on registrations carried out within the last month.
Our priority service costs £35. Ordered certificates will be issued within 24 hours and sent by first class post. If you order certificates after 2pm on Friday your certificate will not be produced until the following Monday.
When you get your certificates will depend on the postal service in your area.

Print and fill in an application form:
Post the form to: Bristol Register Office, The Old Council House, Corn Street, Bristol, BS1 1JG.
Include your payment (if paying by cheque) and a stamped addressed envelope for the certificate to be posted back to you.
In person
Register Office opening hours

- Tuesday: 9am to 4pm
- Wednesday: 10am to 4pm
- Thursday: 9am to 4pm
- Friday: 9am to 4pm
