You may need a number of licences and permits to bring a vessel into the harbour, or use the harbour area.
- Short term navigation licence: you'll need to sign up to the Sail Bristol app to buy a short-term navigation licence
- Annual navigation licence for powered vessels
- Leisure or live aboard licence (permanent)
- Shore storage licence
- Manually propelled licence (annual): for kayaks, stand up paddleboards, canoes, rowing boats or sailing dinghies
- Winter mooring licence

You'll need a current Boat Safety Certificate if you're applying for a permanent mooring in the harbour. You can find an examiner and get a certificate from the Boat Safety Scheme.
Rod fishing licences are available from the Environment Agency.
