Our progress with tackling the areas for improvement in the Ofsted and Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.
In January 2023, Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) adopted a new inspection framework for jointly inspecting local area arrangements for children and young people with SEND.
All local area partnerships are inspected under this new framework, which looks closely at:
- the effectiveness of the partnership's SEND arrangements on children and young people
- the impact on children's outcomes and lived experiences
- how well local area partners work together
- how families experience the system
Bristol's next SEND and CQC Local Area inspection will be under this new framework.
November 2024
Ofsted and the CQC told us that we've made significant progress against our document Accelerated Progress Plan(195 KB) and that formal monitoring would end.
The Department for Educaton (DfE) acknowledged the commitment and hard work from:
- the Bristol Parent Carer Forum
- Bristol City Council
- the Integrated Carer Board
- families
- the workforce across education, health and social care
