References

To reference where something, such as data or text, has come from, provide the details in the flow of text or just afterwards.

Flow of text

For example,'According to the latest figures on the labour market from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), more people...'

Just afterwards

You can reference a source just after a sentence, table, chart, graph or image.

Use this format, 'Source: [Publication or source of data] from the [organisation name].' Link to the source if possible.

For example, 'Source: Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings from the Office for National Statistics.'

If you have more than one source, separate them with a comma.

Use words instead of any punctuation or symbols. Do not use asterisks or superscript numbers to refer the user to the source further on in your content.
