Religion or belief

Only refer to religion or belief if it's relevant to the content and necessary.

Capitalise the name of a:

• religion, such as 'Christianity' or 'Islam'
• religious group, such as 'Christians' or 'Muslims'
• religious denominations, such as 'Catholic' or 'Anglican'
• religious sects, such as 'Evangelical' or 'Sunni'
• organised belief group, such as 'Humanists'

Refer to groups of individuals from the same religion as a 'community' or 'people'. For example, 'Muslim community' or 'Jewish people'.

Use:

• 'all faiths and none' rather than just 'all faiths'
• 'religion or belief' rather than 'all religions'
