Find out about councillors' interests and what they get in the form of gifts and hospitality

Councillors' interests

Councillors must declare certain interests when they become a councillor. These include:

  • the name of their employer and their occupation
  • details of any land or house they occupy within the city
  • interests in companies and securities which operate in the city
  • other financial interests

Find your councillor to see councillor interests.

Councillors must also declare if they have an interest in any of the matters being discussed. This can be done when they complete their general declaration form, at meetings of the council and at Cabinet meetings or committees where they're a member.

If you have questions about the registers or for any other related information, call our Democratic Services team on 0117 922 2908 or email democratic.services@bristol.gov.uk.

Gifts and hospitality

Under our Code of Conduct, councillors must declare any gift or hospitality offered to them over the value of £25.
