We are seeking to recruit a Team Leader.

This exciting opportunity has come up at the Bristol Operations Centre; Bristol City Council’s multi-functional and innovative 24/7, 365 city control centre.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and competent Team Leader to be part of the Bristol Operations team.

You will be determined and able to:

  • ensure effective day to day service provision within the Operations Centre
  • lead a team by providing effective supervision and specialist technical support to staff and advice to customers
  • achieve optimal and timely resolution of complex and/or escalated queries, including complaints

We are looking for someone who:

  • has experience in leading and motivating teams, and ensuring KPIs and quality standards are maintained
  • has a background in control rooms, call centres or telecare / tech enabled care, and who is experienced working in a regulated environment
  • can work collaboratively and lead by example in a dynamic and diverse team to ensure targets are met
  • can gather accurate data and interpret it to inform decision making
  • has excellent communication skills, including report writing, questioning, and listening, empathy, and can keep calm under pressure and deal with challenging and complex situations
  • is committed to providing excellent services to the people of Bristol and beyond and keeping Bristol safe and healthy

The Bristol Operations Centre, situated in the heart of the city, delivers ‘critical’ services 24/7/365 from a modern, regulated, and secure environment to a range of internal, external, public, and private customers. 

Services include:

  • Public Space CCTV monitoring for Bristol and beyond
  • CCTV monitoring for Car Parks and Metrobus Emergency Help Points
  • Telecare monitoring and other Tech Enabled Care Service Nationally
  • Security Alarm monitoring
  • Lone working solutions
  • Out of hours Emergency call handling
  • Traffic and Bus Lane Enforcement
  • City-wide incident response and management
  • Concierge and other housing support services

Training: comprehensive training will take place over the probation period.

Flexi time does not apply to this post and you will be office based but able to work from home on occasions.

Note this job is not suitable for job share.

You will be working in a 24/7 emergency critical response environment, with the requirement to work across different shifts patterns.

You would also be expected to attend monthly Team Meetings, which might be out of your shift pattern. You would receive TOIL for this time.
