What private fostering is and where to find more information.
Some children under 16 (under 18 if they're disabled) live with someone who isn't a close relative. If this is for more than 28 days, it's called private fostering.
You can find more information on our main council website about:
- private fostering arrangements and examples of close relatives
- when you need to tell us about private fostering
- what you need to do if your child is in private foster care, or if you're planning to put your child in private foster care
- what you need to do if you're privately fostering or planning to privately foster someone else's child
