Permissions and cost

You should contact the Bristol Film Office and apply for a filming permit before you start planning to film on any Bristol City Council managed locations.

The Bristol Film Office can assist with finding locations and has a crew and facilities database to help you find Film and TV services or general contacts such as:

  • Casting agencies 
  • Props and equipment
  • Transport companies
  • Post-production facilities

Request a parking suspension

We can block some on-street parking and car park bays for you.

Apply to suspend a parking bay

You must allow three working days for your application to be processed. We won't contact you to tell you your application has been approved; we'll only contact you if we need more information.

The Bottle Yard Studios

The Bottle Yard Studios in Hengrove is the largest film and TV production facility in the West of England.

The Bottle Yard Studios is:

  • 300,000 square feet of flexible production space including green screen, large back lot and extensive parking
  • equipped with production offices, dressing rooms plus a hub of creative on-site tenants
  • 15 minutes’ drive from Bristol city centre and two hours from London
