Montpelier Park

Description

This park stands in the old churchyard of St Andrews Church, which was demolished in 1969. There is a play area in it.

Update on works to the play park

April 2025

Refurbishment work has been taking place at Montpelier play park. During the final inspections we decided to replace the grass seed under the safety surfacing with turf instead. This new turf will need time to settle before we can reopen the play park to the public.

We're working with our contractor to do this as soon as possible. We apologise for the delay and inconvenience caused.

Once finished, the new play area will have:

  • a range of new play equipment for children aged 0 to 12 years including climbing frame, balancing equipment, a slide, swings, seesaw and other play equipment.
  • resurfacing and a new mound formation for the slide
  • two fixed picnic tables
