Bristol and Bordeaux have been twinned since 1947.

The Bristol Bordeaux Partnership (BBP) supports and amplifies the many links between the two cities. The BPP works alongside counterparts l'Association Bordeaux Bristol and both City Councils.

Did you know...

  • It's estimated that more than 30,000 secondary school students have taken part in personal and school exchanges to Bordeaux over the years, resulting in rich and varied lifelong friendships 
  • Bordeaux University masters students have been offering fun French lessons in six South Bristol primary schools for many years. This is a two week placement, funded by the Quartet Foundation and organised by the BBP
  • The students of the BBA INSEEC European Business School in Bordeaux run an annual charity wine auction in Bristol. This is with wine generously donated by the wider Wine community of the Bordeaux region in order to raise funds for a local charity ‘Alice et Vous' and for the work of the Bristol link with Beira
  • The Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Bristol Law Society and many other Bristol based business organisations have regular contact with Bordeaux. We're always looking for opportunities to grow business links between the two regions.

The Bristol Bordeaux Partnership offers personal, family and business membership levels for everyone in the wider Bristol area.
