A Temporary Play Street Order (TPSO) lets residents close a street to traffic so children can play.
You can apply to shut your street as often as once a week for up to three hours.
You need to apply at least 8 weeks before your first playing out session.
You'll need to send us:
- your application form
- a street plan of your event
- the dates and times that you would like your street closed
- a copy of your pdf resident and business consultation letter (21 KB)
Residents must be allowed access by vehicle at all times and arrangements need to be made to get barriers and signs in place. We have a pdf list of suppliers (31 KB) you can use.
Your TPSO is valid for 12 months from the start date.
Amend an application
You may amend or add to your application dates once within the period of the Closure Order.
You can't have more than one play date per week and must let residents know using an updated version of your original resident notification letter.
Send your amendment request and a copy of the letter to firstname.lastname@example.org at least 8 weeks before any added play date.
Renew an application
You can apply for a new one-year Order once the current one expires by filling in the same TPSO form above.
You must give us at least 8 weeks notice.
Make an objection
If you have an objection or comment about playing out in your street, first of all speak to the person who sent the residents' consultation letter.
Contact email@example.com if your concerns are not resolved.
Bristol City Council reserve the right to revoke or cancel any application or closure order in the event that central government's social distancing restrictions change.
