How we improve our SEND Local Offer website

How we improve our SEND Local Offer website

What information we use to develop our SEND Local Offer website so it meets the needs of children and young people with SEND

We constantly review our Local Offer and respond to feedback from everyone using our website and services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Your feedback

We welcome feedback from parents, carers, children and young people using the SEND Local Offer to find services and support. You can give us feedback by filling out our Local Offer website feedback form.

Independent review

We had  an independent review in July 2019 to address problems with:

  • the performance of our SEND services
  • the quality of our SEND data and how we use it to improve services

The specification document sets out the:

  • objectives of the review
  • questions that were asked during the review
  • how the review was carried out

Self evaluation reports

We review the support we offer to families of children and young people with SEND by using self-evaluation reports. We consult with children and families by meeting with them regularly.

The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA)

The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) reports on the health and wellbeing needs of people in Bristol. The Local Offer provides information from the JSNA about how the needs of people in Bristol can be met by local services.

The council reviews the JSNA each year and recommends  changes that need to be made to our Local Offer and services.  Read the JSNA spotlight report on SEND from September 2019.
