How we measure our performance against key priorities.

Performance progress

Performance data is available via 2 dashboards, with a User Guide within their guidance section:

Formal performance reports are produced every 3 months and they're reported publicly.

The latest pdf published performance report is 2023/24 Quarter 3 (October to December 2023) (614 KB)  as reported to Cabinet in March 2024.

Corporate Strategy and Business Plans

The Bristol City Council Corporate Strategy 2022 to 2027 sets out our contribution to the city and our key priorities over five years.

In addition, each year we publish a Business Plan to outline our priority actions during this financial year, and how we will measure our progress.

These documents are on the Corporate Strategy page.

2023/24 Performance Framework

The pdf 2023/24 Performance Framework (152 KB)  outlines the approach being taken to Corporate Performance this year. It links to the performance metric and outcome measures in the Business Plan 2023/24 (the second annual plan from our Corporate Strategy 2022–2027).

The  pdf Business Plan 2023/2024: Performance Measures and Targets (2.13 MB)  appendix lists the targets for each of the performance metrics, plus the year-end results for 2022/2023.

2022/2023 annual progress

The final year-end results for 2022/23 are included within the Targets document above for those indicators continuing in the current Business Plan.

The full 2022/2023 Performance Report against all 2022/2023 Business Plan actions and measures was reported to BCC Cabinet in July 2023. See the year-end Performance Report for 2022/23

Performance reports at Scrutiny

The Corporate Business Plan is scrutinised at the Overview and Scrutiny Management Board.

Meetings and full performance reports are on committee meetings and reports online. These are presented at the first available meeting following the end of each quarter.
