Education plan meetings
We recommended meeting regularly with the school even when things are going well so your child's needs can be identified and planned for.
It is not a legal requirement for schools to hold these meetings for children have not previously been in care. You can contact us and we can support you to talk to the school about the need for a meeting.
You can also contact the school directly to request a meeting to discuss support for your child.
The HOPE Virtual School
The HOPE Virtual School provides information, advice and guidance on education matters for children being looked after under any kinship arrangement.
If you have a concern you need support with, visit the HOPE website or email post.lac@bristol.gov.uk
Further support and advocacy
It's recommended for schools in Bristol to have a designated kinship lead. You should contact your child's school for more information.
