Children's story times and activities

Our activities for children aged from 0 to 17 years old include:

  • baby bounce and rhyme and story time sessions
  • DIY Duplo Day from 9.30am on Tuesday, suitable for children from 1 and a half  to 4 years old
  • DIY Games Day from 3pm to 6.45pm on Thursday and from 1pm to 4.45pm on Sunday, suitable for children aged 2 to 17 years old
  • regular events and activities during school summer holidays, from simple craft activities to author and illustrator visits. You'll need to book your child's place in advance

We host a range of one off events including author talks and theatre performances.

Lunchtime lectures

Thursdays at 12.30pm in the Library foyer.

Talks to engage, inform and enlighten. Different speakers on different subjects each week.

Visually impaired reading group

Last Thursday of the month, 10.30am to 12pm. 

Anyone who finds it difficult to read printed material is welcome to join. We provide CDs and MP3s using the Calibre Audio Library and encourage members to suggest titles from the Calibre web site.

Second Thursday of the month, 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
