What Buckley Court is and how to get a referral.

About Buckley Court

Buckley Court is a joint venture between Bristol City Council, Supporting People and Elim Housing Association. It's a purpose-built supported housing property for deaf or deafblind adults, consisting of eight one-bedroom flats. Two of these flats on the ground floor have disabled access.

Buckley Court has support workers based there who support tenants in developing independence skills to enable them to move on. The property is situated in Henbury, in an excellent location with access to:

  • shops
  • the Mall
  • buses
  • train stations
  • doctors
  • dentists
  • post offices
  • the job centre
  • Henbury Leisure Centre

Each flat has a separate bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and living room and are fully carpeted.  Tenants must furnish their own flat.

Buckley Court has:

  • a communal laundry
  • a meeting and social room
  • its own enclosed garden, a part of which tenants are encouraged to develop and maintain

How to get a referral

Referrals can come from professionals, individuals, family or friends.

Assessment and support plan

As a potential tenant, you'll be assessed and will need to meet criteria before you can move into Buckley Court.

When you become a tenant, you'll have an individual support plan and will then attend support times and group support sessions each week to develop these skills.

If you're not sure if we can help, please contact with us.

If you do not meet the criteria to live at Buckley Court, our floating support team may be able to support you to:

  • maintain independence in your own home
  • find alternative suitable accommodation elsewhere
