Safe Places is a service to help people with communication difficulties stay safe when out and about.

How it works

When you join Safe Places, youre given a card and key fob that have a unique reference number and the Safe Places phone number printed on them. The card will also have details of a parent or carer.

You can call the Safe Places phone number if you need help, for example, if youre lost, feel scared or upset, or have been a victim of crime. The Safe Places phone number goes to the police control room and someone will answer 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

You can also go to a Safe Places building for help. All police stations with an enquiry office and the Citizen Service Point at 100 Temple Street are Safe Places. Look for the Safe Places window sticker:

Join Safe Places

Anyone with communication difficulties, such as dementia or a learning disability, can join Safe Places. Go to www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/safeplaces.
