Who to contact if you're a child or young person and concerned about your safety or the safety of someone you know under the age of 18.

If someone has hurt you, or made you feel scared or upset, it's important to speak to an adult you trust. This could be someone at school, a youth club, your doctor's surgery, or another place you go.

Adults who work or volunteer with children and young people must help keep them safe. If you tell them what's going on, they can help you get the right support.

You can call First Response on 0117 903 6444 to ask for a social worker if you're currently or at risk of being harmed.

We can:

  • give advice
  • guide you to the right support
  • help if you're at risk or being harmed

You can contact First Response or speak to a trusted adult if you're worried about yourself or someone under 18. This includes harm or abuse at home, online, or in the community.

If you have multiple complex problems we can consider whether a family support worker or other professional may be able to offer more support.

If you're not able to call, tell us your preferred communication method.

You can speak to someone at Childline on 0800 1111. Calls are free and confidential. You can also contact them on the Childline website.
