How to adopt or foster in Bristol and support for children who are adopted or living in foster care.

Fostering is when you look after a child temporarily when they cannot stay with their own family. As a foster carer, you share responsibility for the child with the parents and the council.

Adoption is when you give a child a permanent home when they cannot be brought up by their birth family.  If you adopt a child, you take on all parental responsibility and the child becomes a full member of your family.
