Our libraries offer a range of services for children from infant to 14 years. 

Winter Mini Challenge: Story Garden

This year's Winter Mini Challenge theme is Story Garden.

The theme encourages children to explore nature and stories, sparking imagination and a love of reading.

The #WinterMiniChallenge begins online on 1 December.

Children take part in a free reading challenge designed to beat the holiday reading dip, discover new books, and keep up good reading habits.

  • Rhyme and storytime sessions

    If you have a baby, you can come to our baby bounce and rhyme sessions.

  • Reading resources

    Bookstart gives free packs of books and information to parents of babies and pre-school children, to encourage a love of reading.

  • Children's University

    The Children’s University encourages children aged 5 to 14 years to get new interests and skills by joining learning activities outside of school.
