When and how you can make a request for targeted support from Family Help.

Targeted support is for intensive needs as part of Level 3 in Keeping Bristol Safe Partnership's Indicators of Need. Universal and Additional needs (Level 1 and 2) are not only accessed through professional conversations an direct single agency referrals, not First Response.

This is in accordance with their Effective Support for Children and Families guidance.

You can make a request for Family Help services if:

  • the children's needs are at Level 3 Intensive of the Indicators of Need
  • the parents or carers want support and agree to the request
  • the family consent to information sharing between partner agencies

If you know the child has an allocated social worker or Family Help worker, contact the worker directly.

If you're not sure if the child has an allocated social worker or Family Help worker, you can request the information from First Response.

If you would like to request support for a family from a Children's Centre, you should refer to them directly.
