Fleet services

MOTs, taxi compliance testing and vehicle services for charities and voluntary organisations

Fleet Services are introducing pre-payment for all Fleet Services appointments.

If you have already booked an inspection at Fleet Services, please call 0117 9036319 to pay before you attend your appointment.

The receipt for payments will be available to collect from the MOT office at Sandy Park on the completion of the vehicle inspection.

Please note that this is a rapidly changing situation and we will update you with any future developments.

If you’re experiencing any symptoms please ensure you stop working, do not attend Fleet Services or the Customer Service Point and follow the latest advice and information from the government on GOV.UK.

Fleet Services manage, service and maintain vehicles for the council, charities and voluntary sector.

Preparing for your MOT test

Make sure you arrive at least 10 minutes before your appointment.

Bring your vehicle to the test bay and pay at the reception, a member of staff will then test your vehicle.

If you fail your MOT test

If your vehicle fails its test then:

  • you’ll get a VT30 ‘refusal of an MOT test certificate’ which includes the reasons why it did not pass
  • it will be recorded in the MOT database
  • you need to discuss your test results with the test centre before anyone starts repairs
  • you will need to repair your vehicle in a different garage than fleet services
  • rebook another test once the faults have been fixed, you can have a partial retest for a lower fee if returned repaired within 10 working days

Taxi compliance testing

Compliance testing is run in conjunction with Bristol City Council's Licensing Team.

Read the Taxis and private hire licensing policy.

We do not carry out repairs, if your vehicle fails it will need to be taken to another garage for repair.
