What are the family events, the times of year we run them, and how you can sign up.

Games laid out on mats in a park

Our family events are times for the children, their carers, and families to get together, enjoy some games, and make new friends.

We provide games, crafts and refreshments and try to create an informal and welcoming event which is accessible to all.

“We all had a fantastic time… you had all the activities spot on. It was suitable for all ages and was very relaxed.”

When we run family events

We run family events throughout the year.

These are at:

  • Spring holiday
  • School summer holiday
  • October half term

“Had so much fun it took most of the day to come back down. And it was great to catch up with other parents too.”

How to take part

All of our events are advertised in our monthly special guardians newsletter.

To sign up for the newsletter or find out more, email special.guardianship@bristol.gov.uk

“The events are a great way to meet other special guardians and find connections.”

“There was plenty to keep them busy. They loved creating their own t-shirts and also loved the variety of food! They liked having the freedom to do what they wanted. Your team were enthusiastic and very helpful. It was a great two hours.”
