Kingsdown residents' parking scheme

Get resident and visitor permits
Renew your residents' permits
You can renew your permit if yours is going to expire in the next 30 days.

- First residents' permit cost depends on the vehicle emissions tax band: free, £24, £48 or £72 for a year (see table below).
- Second permit costs £96 for a year.
- Third permit costs £192 for a year.
- There is an option to pay for your residents’ permit every three months in quarterly instalments.

You can apply for 100 visitors’ permits each year.
The first 50 permits are free, the next 50 cost £1 each.
You don't need to own a car to get visitors' permits.
You don’t have to apply for all of your visitors' permits in one go. You can apply for more permits, up to the annual limit of 100, at any time during the year.
If you're getting short-term or long-term care in your own home you might be able to get a free Essential Visitors' Permit (EVP).
When and where you can park
Between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, you will need a permit or a pay and display ticket to park in the area.
You can park without a permit or pay and display ticket outside these times.
You don't need a permit or pay and display ticket on bank and public holidays.
Pay and display
You can park for up to 30 minutes free of charge using a pay and display ticket or pay £1 an hour to park for up to three hours.
You may be able to park for longer than three hours in some places, depending on the needs of the area. This will be clearly marked.
On bank holidays, you don't need a ticket or permit to park in this area.
