West of England Rental Standard

As a private rental sector landlord or agent, you can join the West of England (WoE) Rental Standard scheme to show tenants that you meet certain standards.

The WoE Rental Standard is a set of minimum standards that landlords and agents in the private rental sector should meet. You can look at the standards at the West of England Housing website.

If you’d like to join the WoE Rental Standard, you need to become a member of an Accreditation Provider for the standard.

If you’re an organisation that accredits businesses that provide or manage privately rented accommodation, you can apply to become a WoE Rental Standard Accreditation Provider.

What happened to the Bristol Accreditation Scheme

We reviewed the Bristol Accreditation Scheme and replaced it with the WoE Rental Standard. The new standard will be used in Bristol, North Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

If you’re a landlord accredited under the Bristol Accreditation Scheme, you’ll still be accredited under this scheme until it runs out. Accreditation lasts five years.
