About our affordable housing consultations

We work with residents, local businesses and other stakeholders to help shape the design and delivery of future developments.

We're committed to making sure we are fully inclusive when engaging with the public and providing regular communication throughout our projects.

Our aim is to work with partners, local communities and developers to deliver 1000 new affordable homes each year by 2024.

We started the New Build Housing programme in 2014, using brownfield sites to provide new, high quality council homes.

We want to make the best use of land we already own to:

  • address the demand for affordable housing in Bristol
  • improve areas for local communities
  • reduce instances of anti-social behaviour that derelict sites can attract

Our communication objectives

Communication and engagement with the community has a key role to play in helping us  deliver our objectives.

Our objectives are to:

  • be collaborative in our approach when designing and planning new housing development in communities
  • provide information to allow stakeholders to be fully informed of changes to their neighbourhoods
  • let  residents have their say
  • offer  a channel and space to communicate directly with us
