Community groups can set up neighbourhood planning forums to write their own policies for an area, which are used with the Local Plan to decide planning applications.
Following the result of the referendum on 14 February 2019, the Hengrove and Whitchurch Park Neighbourhood Development Plan can now be used with the Local Plan to decide planning applications in Hengrove and Whitchurch Park. The plan has now been made' by the council.
The Lawrence Weston Neighbourhood Planning Group has been re-designated as the Neighbourhood Planning Forum for the Lawrence Weston Neighbourhood Planning Area.
The Redcliffe Residents Action Group and Neighbourhood Forum has been designated as the Neighbourhood (Planning) Forum for the Redcliffe Neighbourhood Planning Area.
The Old Market Community Association has been redesignated as the Neighbourhood (Planning) Forum for the Old Market Neighbourhood Planning Area.

- your local Neighbourhood Partnership
Community groups can also apply for their local area to become a neighbourhood planning area, so they can write their own policies for it.
