What admission arrangements are

Admission arrangements explain how schools decide who gets a place. They include rules for when more children apply than there are spaces.

For community and voluntary controlled schools, the Local Authority sets these rules. For other schools, this is decided by the school or academy trust.

We're asking for your thoughts on the proposed admission arrangements for primary, infant, and junior schools for 2027 to 2028.

Relevant Areas

The Local Authority also establishes the Relevant Areas for admission arrangement consultations. We are required to define a ‘relevant area' in which admission authorities must consult on their proposed admission arrangements. These are unchanged from what has been set in previous years but we have included them with this consultation as they relate to the admissions process
