Premises licences for alcohol and entertainment
Premises licences for alcohol and entertainment
The government has approved an extension to licensing hours for the Platinum Jubilee weekend.
If you normally sell alcohol for consumption on the premises and normally close between 11pm and 1am you will be allowed to stay open for up to two extra hours between 11pm and 1am on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th June 2022 without the need for any extra permission.
The latest closing time is 1am for all premises. For example, if your licence normally allows you to stay open until midnight, you would be allowed to stay open until 1am, but not later.
You do not need to notify the us, or submit a Temporary Event Notice for these dates as long as:
- you sell alcohol for consumption on the premises
- your licence allows you to sell alcohol for consumption on the premises either up to 11pm or to a time after 11pm and before 1am on those days
You will not qualify for this automatic extension if:
- you do not sell alcohol for consumption on the premises. For example, late night food premises where no alcohol is sold
- your licence requires you to stop selling alcohol before 11pm on any of those days. For example, if your licence finishes at 10.30pm you would not qualify
- you’re an off licence
