Transport and Connectivity Committee: July 2026

A decision was made to make the scheme permanent. Of the 460 public statements on the scheme received for the meeting, over two thirds were in support for the scheme.

West of England Mayoral Combined Authority decision on funding the scheme: September 2026 (anticipated)

Statutory Consultation: Autumn 2026

Traffic Regulation Order process in relation to elements of the scheme, such as the extension of double yellow lines/waiting restrictions to improve vehicle access and movements and the introduction of one-ways on Derby Street to prevent queue-jumping.

Some targeted informal community engagement will also be carried out, to inform final layouts for sections of the public space areas at Victoria Avenue and Ducie Road, as there is an appropriate of flexibility for this in these two locations.
