You can pay in many ways, including by Direct Debit, online, by phone, by post, in person or by bank transfer.
Setting up a Direct Debit is quick and easy.

Paying online is easy and secure. We accept all major credit and debit cards.
You'll need your council tax account number. This can be found on the top left of your council tax bill.
Call Us: Pay by phone using our 24 hour automated payment line 0870 707 7776. The call will cost you up to 2p per minute plus your phone provider's access charge.

Use your council tax account number as your payment reference. This can be found on the top left of your council tax bill.
Send a cheque made payable to Bristol City Council. Write your council tax account number on the front of the cheque, in the top right hand corner. Tell us if you would like a receipt.

Pay in 12 monthly instalments
You can pay by 12 monthly instalments, but the payments can only begin at the start of the financial year, which runs from April to March.
If you want to pay in these instalments, you need to contact us before the 31 March using the council tax enquiry form.
