Report flytipping (illegal dumping)
Report flytipping (illegal dumping)
Report rubbish that’s been dumped on the road, pavement or public land.
On roads, pavements and council owned land
Give us as much detail as possible, for example:
- the location
- details of what's been dumped
If you saw the rubbish being dumped, tell us:
- what the person looked like
- the vehicle registration, make and model and what it looked like
We aim to clear flytipping within two working days from:
- council owned land
- public highways
- public footpaths
It may take longer if lifting equipment is required.
Hazardous or dangerous items will be removed as soon as possible.
We've changed the way you access some of our online forms
You need to create an account and sign in to use our bin, recycling and some street issue online forms. When you sign in you’ll be able to:
- submit a form
- check the progress of your reports, orders and referrals
- look at past communications with us, such as forms you've submitted, phone calls or emails
This account will be separate from other accounts you may already have with us. You can use the same email address that you use for other accounts.
We are fixing some recently identified accessibility issues with bins, recycling and street issue forms. If you experience difficulties, use our bins and recycling contact form instead.
On private land
If the fly-tip is on private land it's the duty of the land owner to clear the waste and so may take longer.
If you saw the rubbish being dumped, tell us:
- what the person looked like
- the vehicle registration, make and model and what it looked like
To make this report, call 0117 922 2100
In a play area, park or open space

People who fly-tip can get:
- a fine of up to £50,000
- up to five year’s imprisonment
