New recycling containers being delivered: Autumn 2026
If you currently put your recycling out for collection at the kerbside, you will automatically receive:
- red recycling bag for plastics and cans to replace green recycling boxes
- blue recycling bag for paper and card
- brown bin and caddy for food waste (only if they are missing or damaged)
Crews will swap your recycling containers and deliver new ones on your usual collection day.
Before the rollout reaches your area
You can use other household containers such as bags for life to present your correctly sorted recycling for collection until you receive your new containers.
Continue using your green recycling box until your replacement red recycling bag arrives.
Other container orders
All other bins and containers can still be ordered as usual. Delivery charges may apply.
As replacement recycling containers are being delivered automatically to all households that receive a kerbside recycling collection service, we recommend waiting until the rollout has reached your area, before ordering replacement recycling bags or food waste containers.
Black wheelie bin
You'll need to pay for a replacement black wheelie bin. If you already have a black wheelie bin, do not order another one. We cannot refund you if you order a black wheelie bin by mistake.
Pay for recycling bins, bags and boxes
If you do not have a recycling bin, bag or bag and you require extra or replacement containers, you'll need to make a payment and we'll deliver them to you. This is to cover the cost of administration and delivery.
We charge £2.50 delivery for a:
- blue bag for cardboard and paper
- red recycling bag
- black recycling box and lid (if you have one)
- food waste bin, to put your food waste out for collection
- food waste caddy, to use in the kitchen
Order new bins, bags and boxes
We aim to deliver your new bins, bags or boxes within 15 working days. At busy times it can take longer.
If you don't have the correct bin, bag or box, you should:
- separate your recycling by type (cans, plastics, paper, glass, cardboard with tape removed and big pieces ripped up) and put it in untied carrier bags (not black bin liners), we cannot take bags of mixed recycling
- put waste that can't be recycled in tied bin bags and put them on the kerbside on your usual collection day by 6am
